This 2006 example combines travels of 23.6 x 17.7 x 17.7 inch (X/Y/Z) with an integrated 5-axis rotary tilting table - a 17.7 inch diameter platter offering B-axis tilt from -115 to +30 degrees and continuous 360-degree C-axis rotation - so complex, multi-sided parts are finished complete in one setup. Power comes from a vector-controlled Step-Tec motorized spindle turning to 20,000 RPM through an HSK-A63 interface, rated 40 HP (30 kW) on a ceramic hybrid bearing set for thermal stability across long cycles. The Vario system swapped the earlier model's fixed layout for a modular architecture - interchangeable rotary tilting tables (standard and torque-motor RTT), a scalable tool magazine expandable to 220 pockets, and vector-controlled Step-Tec spindle options reaching 42,000 RPM - so a single platform can be tailored from positional 5-sided work to full simultaneous 5-axis machining.
