The Brother Speedio R650X2 is a compact, pallet-changing CNC vertical machining center known for the blistering speed and rock-solid reliability that made the Speedio line a fixture in high-volume drilling, tapping, and milling cells. This 2020 unit pairs travels of 25.6 x 15.7 x 17.1 inch (X/Y/Z) with Brother's QT two-face quick-turn pallet changer (3.4-second pallet change) and a 40-tool double-arm magazine, the largest magazine Brother offers on the platform. The 10,000 RPM high-torque BT30 BIG-PLUS spindle (12.8 kW) delivers strong low-end torque for steel, while a 0.15-second spindle start/stop and 1,969 IPM rapids keep non-cut time near zero. It is heavily optioned for automated production: a Brother T-200A R high-speed 4th-axis rotary package (two units), a BLUM TC-52 spindle probe with dual BLUM Z-Nano tool setters, coolant-through-spindle with a 1,000 PSI high-pressure pump, an Amano MZ-15 mist collector, a Mayfran CleanSweep chip conveyor, automatic door, area sensor, and a Nachi 3,000 PSI hydraulic power unit, all run by Brother's CNC-C00 control with Ethernet and high-accuracy look-ahead.
Against the first-generation Brother Speedio R650X1 it replaced, the R650X2 is a decisively faster and more capable machine. The X2 generation stepped up to Brother's CNC-C00 control with High-Accuracy Mode B look-ahead for smoother contours and better surface finish, quicker spindle acceleration and tool change, and a power-regeneration energy-saving system - gains the older X1 control could not match. Brother also expanded the platform to a 40-pocket magazine with the extended Z-travel that comes with it, and refined the QT pallet changer for higher reliability, so a shop moving up from an X1, an older Brother TC-series tapping center, or a conventional number 30 machine gains real throughput: complete-in-one-setup parts, faster cycles, and unattended pallet-to-pallet running on a field-proven platform.
