The Tormach 1500MX is a fully-enclosed BT30 CNC vertical machining center that brings production-capable milling into a compact, shop-friendly footprint. It pairs a 10,000 RPM BT30 spindle (4 HP continuous, 6 HP peak) with X/Y/Z travels of 19.7 / 13.8 / 14 inches over a 35 x 12.75 inch T-slot table, and moves at rapids up to 1,200 IPM. This unit is fully equipped: a 16-pocket automatic tool changer, both flood and through-spindle coolant, a chip conveyor and oil skimmer, and a wireless probe and tool setter for automated part and tool measurement. It runs Tormach's PathPilot control with conversational programming, high-speed machining, rigid tapping, spindle orientation, and coordinate rotation, and includes a BT30 tooling package with a 6 inch precision vise.
Compared with Tormach's smaller 1100MX, the 1500MX steps up to a larger 35 x 12.75 inch table and an expanded X/Y work envelope on a heavier, more rigid frame - meaning bigger fixtures, longer parts, and more confident cuts in steel. The BT30 spindle taper - versus the R8/TTS tooling of Tormach's earlier PCNC-generation mills - delivers faster, more repeatable automatic tool changes and better tool rigidity, while the PathPilot control with factory-integrated probing, coolant, and chip management makes this a genuine machining center rather than a hobby-class mill. For a shop that has outgrown a benchtop or PCNC-class Tormach, it is a meaningful step up in capacity and automation in a current-generation, turnkey package.
