2017 Okuma GENOS M560-V CNC Vertical Machining Center

The Okuma GENOS M560-V is a double-column vertical machining center built on Okuma's Thermo-Friendly Concept, which is the reason it holds size through long runs instead of drifting as the casting warms. This 2017 machine offers a 41.34 x 22.05 x 18.11 inch machining volume over a 51.18 x 22.05 inch table, driven by a 15,000 RPM CAT40 BIG-PLUS spindle rated 30 HP, with rapid traverse of 1,575 IPM in X and Y and 1,262 IPM in Z and a 32-tool magazine. The double-column design moves the table in Y only while the spindle carries X and Z, which shrinks the footprint and keeps the moving mass balanced for accuracy at speed. Control is the Okuma OSP-P300MA, the open-architecture platform Okuma builds its own collision-avoidance and adaptive-machining apps on. The spindle steps up to 15,000 RPM on a CAT40 BIG-PLUS interface, so the dual-contact taper holds rigidity at speeds where a standard CAT40 begins to lose it, and 30 HP behind it means that speed is usable in steel and titanium rather than only aluminum.
