The DMG DMC 100-U is a 5-axis universal machining center, and this listing is a complete two-machine cell rather than a single spindle. Each DMC 100-U carries 39.37 inch travels in X, Y, and Z, a B-axis swivel through 180 degrees, and a full 360 degree C-axis rotary table, giving true simultaneous 5-axis capability on prismatic and contoured work. Both machines run 18,000 RPM HSK63 motor spindles rated at 35 HP, with high pressure coolant and through-spindle coolant plumbed in, and each carries its own 240-pocket tool carousel, putting 480 tools resident across the cell without a single manual tool load. Pallets measure 31.5 x 39.4 inches. Tying the pair together is a Fastems 28-pallet flexible manufacturing system with two operator load stations and a centralized pallet conveyor, so parts stage at the front while the machines cut. Control is Siemens 840. Over 100 HSK63 tool adapters are included with the cell.

Set against the 3-axis DMC 100 V in the same DMC 100 series, the U designation is the whole story: the V gives you a fixed table and three linear axes, while the 100-U adds the swiveling B-axis and the rotating C-axis table. That collapses multi-setup prismatic parts into one clamping and opens up true 5-axis contouring the V simply cannot reach. The 18,000 RPM HSK63 spindle also moves the machine past general-purpose 3-axis territory into aluminum structural work and hard-metal finishing, where the HSK63 interface holds runout and rigidity that a steep-taper 3-axis setup gives up at those speeds.
