The Matsuura Cublex-35 is a 5-axis multi-tasking vertical machining center that brings turning, milling, and grinding into one chucking, built on Matsuura's reputation for precision and unattended reliability in mold, medical, aerospace, and high-mix production shops. This 2015 machine offers X/Y/Z travels of 21.65 x 17.32 x 22.83 in, a 20,000 RPM HSK-A63 spindle rated at 25 HP, and a 520-station tool magazine, all under the Matsuura G-Tech 31i (Fanuc 31i-based) control. Its trunnion 5-axis table swings +65 to -125 degrees in B and rotates a full 360 degrees continuous in C, with a direct-drive C-axis that turns up to 3,000 RPM for on-machine turning of round features. A P-32 tower pallet system with 32 pallets and a load/unload station, thru-spindle, and 2,362 ipm rapids round out a cell built for hands-off, complete-part production.
Compared with a conventional 5-axis machining center in Matsuura's own lineup such as the MAM72-35V, the Cublex-35 is a meaningfully more capable machine, not just a newer one: where the MAM72 mills complex parts across a pallet pool, the Cublex-35 adds a direct-drive C-axis turning spindle to 3,000 RPM plus grinding capability, so turned, milled, and ground features are finished in one chucking instead of moving between a lathe and a mill. Combined with the 520-tool magazine and 32-pallet tower automation, that integration removes setups, refixturing, and inter-machine handling, so the buyer steps up to true done-in-one production and higher spindle utilization, not merely a faster mill.
