Ganesh GMV-3 CNC Knee Mill

The Ganesh GMV-3 CNC is a toolroom CNC knee mill with a reputation for versatility and ease of use that has made it a mainstay in tool rooms, prototype shops, and short-run production. Built by Ganesh Machinery (now Expand Machinery), it combines a Bridgeport-style knee-mill layout with a Fagor 3-axis CNC control and a 6,000 RPM inverter-driven variable-speed head for programmable milling. The machine offers a 10" x 54" table, travels of 34.5" (X) x 16.3" (Y) x 15.75" (knee/Z), 5" of quill travel, an R-8 spindle taper, and a 3 HP head, and it comes equipped with an air power drawbar, coolant pump, and chip tray. At roughly 3,482 lbs, it delivers knee-mill flexibility with true CNC repeatability in a compact footprint.

Compared with a conventional manual knee mill - even one fitted with a DRO - the GMV-3 CNC is a step up into programmable production. Where a manual mill relies on the operator to crank every axis by hand, the GMV-3 CNC runs full three-axis programmed moves under the Fagor control, so it can repeat complex bolt patterns, pockets, and contours part after part without layout time. The 6,000 RPM inverter head adds spindle-speed range a step-pulley manual head cannot match, and the power drawbar speeds tool changes.
