The Haas VF-2YT is a 40-taper vertical machining center with a reputation for dependable, straightforward metal cutting that has made the VF series a staple in job shops, tool rooms, and production floors across North America. This VF-2YT offers travels of 30 x 20 x 20 inches (X/Y/Z), a 10,000-RPM inline CAT40 spindle rated at 30 HP, and rapids of 1,000 ipm on all axes. The 36 x 18 inch table carries up to 3,000 lb, and tooling runs through a 20-pocket carousel tool changer. The machine carries factory 4th-axis drive and wiring for future rotary expansion, through-spindle-coolant-ready plumbing, programmable coolant, a chip auger, and high-intensity lighting, and it runs the current-generation Haas Next Generation Control (NGC) with Ethernet networking and rigid tapping.
The VF-2YT is the extended-Y evolution of the standard Haas VF-2. Where the base VF-2 gives 16 inches of Y travel and an 8,100-RPM spindle, the VF-2YT stretches Y travel to a full 20 inches and, as configured here, adds the 10,000-RPM spindle option - so taller fixtures, trunnions, and 4th-axis setups fit where they would not on a standard VF-2, and the higher spindle speed opens up aluminum and small-tool work. That added envelope and spindle range, on the same rigid Haas VF platform and the modern Next Generation Control, make this VF-2YT a more capable, more flexible machine than the VF-2 it is based on - real gains for shops taking on a wider mix of parts.
