2017 Doosan DNM-200/5AX CNC Vertical Machining Center

The Doosan DNM 200/5AX is a compact 5-axis CNC vertical machining center built on the same rigid DNM platform that has made Doosan a dependable name in job shops and production cells. This 2017 machine pairs X 15.7 / Y 17.1 / Z 19.7 inch travels with a built-in trunnion rotary table carrying a 7.87 inch (200 mm) diameter table, an A-axis tilt of +30 to -120 degrees, and full 360 degree C-axis rotation, with a rated table load of 88.2 lb horizontal. The 12,000 RPM spindle is rated at 24.8 HP with 86.3 ft-lbs of torque and runs CAT 40 Big Plus dual-contact tooling, while the 40-tool memory-random automatic tool changer accepts tools up to 2.99 inches in diameter, 11.8 inches long, and 17.6 lb, with a rated 1.3 second tool-to-tool and 3.7 second chip-to-chip time. Rapid traverse is rated at 1,417 ipm on X and Y and 1,181 ipm on Z, with cutting feed rates to 590.6 ipm and 1.2 to 20.9 inches from spindle nose to table. Compared with a 3-axis Doosan DNM 200 or a conventional VMC fitted with a bolt-on rotary or aftermarket trunnion, the DNM 200/5AX integrates its tilting rotary table directly into the machine design, so the A and C axes are part of the base structure rather than an accessory added to a 3-axis table. That integration preserves usable work envelope and rigidity, keeps the rotary axes under the same Doosan-Fanuc control, and lets one setup reach five sides of a part instead of the multiple fixtures and re-clamps a 3-axis DNM 200 requires. The 40-tool magazine on this unit goes beyond the 30-tool standard configuration, and the Big Plus CAT 40 spindle adds face contact for better stiffness in demanding cuts.
