2015 Haas VF-4 CNC Vertical Machining Center

The Haas VF-4 is a 40-taper vertical machining center from the VF series, a line whose simple, dependable design has made it a staple in job shops and production environments across North America. This 2015 model is a 3-axis CNC VMC with X / Y / Z travels of 50" x 20" x 25", giving it the long X stroke needed for long parts, multiple vises, and multi-part fixtures on a single setup. The VF-4 is built around Haas's 8,100 RPM 40-taper inline direct-drive spindle, and this unit is equipped with a side-mount tool changer in place of the standard carousel for faster, more flexible tool changes. The machine runs on the Haas control, a straightforward interface that most machinists already know, and is set up for 195-260V 3-phase power.

The VF-4 builds on earlier generations of the same machine. Older belt-drive VF-4 builds ran a 7,500 RPM spindle on the classic Haas platform with a 20-pocket carousel tool changer. The later VF-4 moved to the 8,100 RPM inline direct-drive spindle, which delivers smoother high-speed cutting and less maintenance than a belt-driven design. This unit adds a side-mount tool changer, giving faster tool-to-tool changes than the carousel found on most VF-4s. For a shop that needs 50 inches of X travel in a familiar Haas package, the 2015 VF-4 is a meaningfully better machine than its predecessors, not just a newer one.
