The Fadal VMC 3016HT is a 3-axis CNC vertical machining center with a reputation for simple operation and long service life that has made Fadal a staple in job shops, tool rooms, and production cells across North America. Built in 1999 by Fadal Engineering in Chatsworth, California, this 904-1 series VMC offers X 30 / Y 16 / Z 20 inch travels over a 39 x 16 inch table rated for 2,736 lbs, with a spindle nose to table range of 4 to 24 inches. The HT designation marks the high-torque spindle package: a CAT 40 spindle rated to 10,000 RPM and driven by a 22.5 HP (rated peak) motor, designed for heavier material removal in steel, stainless, and cast iron as well as aluminum. Programmable cutting feeds range from .01 to 400 IPM. A random, bi-directional carousel automatic tool changer handles tools up to 3 inches in diameter, 15 inches long, and 15 lbs.
