The Brother Speedio S700Xd2 is a compact CNC drill/tap center with a reputation for speed and dependable uptime that has made the Speedio line a staple in high-volume automotive, electronics, medical and job-shop environments. This 2024 unit offers X/Y/Z travels of 27.6 x 17.7 x 11.8 inches over a 31.5 x 17.7 inch table rated for 551 lbs. The BT30 dual-contact spindle is the 27,000 RPM high-speed option rated at 11.9 HP (8.9 kW, 10-minute rating), built for small-diameter tooling, aluminum and high-speed finishing. A 28-tool turret-type magazine delivers 0.7 second tool-to-tool and 1.3 second chip-to-chip changes, accepting tools up to 4.3 inches in diameter, 9.8 inches long and 6.6 lbs. Spindle nose to table distance ranges from 7.1 to 18.9 inches. Rapid traverse rates of 1,969 ipm on X and Y and 2,205 ipm on Z keep non-cut time to a minimum. The machine runs the Brother CNC-D00 control with a 15-inch color touch-screen display, and this unit is equipped with a chip conveyor, flood coolant and an Amano mist collector. Power requirement is 200-230V, 3-phase, and machine weight is approximately 5,622 lbs.
The S700Xd2 is a clear step up from the Speedio S700X2 and S700X1 that came before it. Brother enlarged the work zone, growing Y-axis travel from 15.7 to 17.7 inches and the table from 31.5 x 15.7 to 31.5 x 17.7 inches, so larger parts and multi-part fixtures fit without moving to a bigger machine. Tool capacity grows from the 14 or 21 tools of the S700X2 to a 28-tool magazine, reducing tool swaps on complex part families. The control moves from the CNC-C00 with a 12.1-inch color LCD to the CNC-D00 with a 15-inch color touch screen for faster setup, navigation and program editing. Combined with the same 1,969 / 2,205 ipm rapids and 27,000 RPM spindle capability, the S700Xd2 gives buyers a larger envelope, more tools and a more modern control in the same compact Speedio footprint - a meaningfully better production machine, not just a newer one.
