The Haas VF-4SS is a Super-Speed CNC vertical machining center whose simple, dependable design has made it a fixture in job shops and production cells across North America. This 2020 unit offers X 50 / Y 20 / Z 25 inch travels over a 52 x 19.5 inch T-slot table rated for 1,750 lb, paired with a 12,000 RPM, 30 HP inline direct-drive CAT 40 spindle and 1,400 ipm rapids on all three axes. Tooling capacity is expanded with the optional High-Speed 50+1 side-mount tool changer with CT-style grippers, and the machine is equipped with 4th-axis drive and wiring for adding a rotary table. Chip and coolant management includes 300 psi through-spindle coolant, high-pressure flood coolant, a programmable coolant nozzle, an auxiliary coolant filter, a coolant tank oil skimmer, automatic coolant refill, a coolant mist condenser, window air blast, a 55-gallon coolant tank, and a chip auger. The Haas Next Generation Control adds high-speed machining, rigid tapping, Dynamic Work Offsets and Tool Center Point Control, 1 GB of program memory, Ethernet and WiFi connectivity, HaasConnect remote monitoring, HaasDrop, a WiFi camera, and an automatic door for cell integration.
Compared with the standard Haas VF-4, which shares the same 50 x 20 x 25 inch work envelope but runs an 8,100 RPM spindle, the VF-4SS steps up to a 12,000 RPM spindle and faster 1,400 ipm rapids for shorter cycle times on aluminum, steel, and mold work. It also improves on earlier VF-4SS machines built with the Haas Classic control: the Next Generation Control brings a faster interface, far larger program memory, network and WiFi connectivity, and remote monitoring that older units lack. Buyers get the proven VF-4 footprint in a quicker, better-connected machine, built to cut cycle time, run more parts per shift, and grow into 4th-axis work without replacing equipment.
